This five-day Sri Lankan expedition offers a breathtaking journey through the island’s diverse landscapes, beginning with a cultural immersion in the central highlands. Upon arrival, you are whisked away to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a world-renowned sanctuary and breeding ground where you can witness the majestic herd—the largest of its kind in captivity. Your first day concludes in the historic city of Kandy, where, time permitting, you will experience a vibrant Cultural Show before settling into the cool mountain air for the night.
The adventure intensifies on the second day as you pay your respects at the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic before heading toward the mist-covered hills of Ella. Along the way, you’ll marvel at the cascading Ramboda Falls and embark on the iconic Ambewela to Ella train ride, widely considered one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Once in Ella, the itinerary captures the region’s architectural and natural beauty with visits to the colonial-era Nine Arch Bridge and the adrenaline-inducing Ella Swing.
The third day transitions from the highlands to the wild southern plains. After visiting the legendary Ravana Falls, you’ll swap the lush greenery for rugged terrain with a thrilling ATV ride. The highlight of the day is an evening Jeep Safari in Yala National Park, where you’ll have the chance to spot leopards, elephants, and sloth bears in their natural habitat. Following the safari, you can unwind and enjoy a peaceful evening at your hotel in Yala.
On the fourth day, you will track the picturesque coastline toward Bentota. This leg of the trip is packed with diverse experiences: from the Instagram-famous Coconut Tree Hill in Mirissa and the colonial charm of Galle Fort to a tranquil Madu River Safari. You will also visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project to learn about vital efforts to protect endangered hatchlings. The day ends with a splash of excitement during water sports in Bentota, followed by a final overnight stay by the sea. Your journey concludes on the fifth day with a scenic transfer back to the airport, marking the end of a comprehensive Sri Lankan tour.

The main aim of the project is to monitor local sea turtle activity and conserve the local nesting sites. We aim to make the public more aware of how endangered these beautiful creatures are and just how important it is to help protect them before it is too late. One of the most important activities of the project is its hatchery. Within the sanctuary of the project, collected and rescued eggs can hatch safely away from predators before being released into the sea at night-time. In addition, a certain number from each hatching are kept back for a short period for 'head starting' before release. The hatchery program is designed to maximize the number of hatchlings reaching the sea and surviving through the critical stages of their early life. Only a few hatchlings from each batch will ever make it to adulthood. Therefore, every nest-ground, every egg, every hatchling and every turtle is crucial to the survival of the species. Unfortunately, sea turtles face many dangers. Water Sports in Bentota Dinner & stay overnight at Hotel in Bentota
